Welcome to the web site for the Warlingham and District Angler's Society, the major club serving North East Surrey and Croydon - as featured in Angler's Mail 26/3/03.
Please feel free to browse our site, which will be updated frequently to show our activities, and if you feel that you wish to join, click on the membership form link, to open up the form and print off a copy. The 2008/2009 form is now available.
The Society, which was formed just after the Second World War in 1947 exists to promote the sport of angling. It is our goal to ensure that our members have opportunities to fish in well stocked waters in peaceful surroundings. Last year we celebrated our Diamond Jubilee with several events. In 2008 we will be having more events in aid of Kent Air Ambulance
We are primarily a coarse fishing club and hold friendly competitions and occasionally stray into the more competitive local leagues, the Angling Times SuperCup and if there is sufficient interest a team in the NFA National.
Our waters include rivers and stillwaters which include quality fish with catches of over 100 lb possible.
Watch this spac for this year's Kingfisher Course providing completely free coaching for our junior members with sessions at our Charts Plain Fishery.
Our social events see many well known names attend and give an insight. Past examples include four times World Champion Bob Nudd, England coach Mark Downes, Daiwa Dorking's Steve Sanders, William Raison and John Merritt plus Dickie Carr, angling legend Ivan Marks, David Bird, Richie MacDonald (what has happened to this carp fishing character?) and Angler's Mail contributors Bill and Virginia Rushmer.
